At my school, students take the AIMS Web reading test so fluency is HUGE in the lower grades. This year has definitely been a learning experience for me as far as how to organize my students' fluency charts, words, passages, etc. Now that we are three-quarters of the way through the year, I think I finally have it figured out!! YAY!!

ReplyDeleteI love it...just wondering where you get the weekly fluency passage from, and does each child get the same passage?

I'm so glad this could help y'all! :)
ReplyDelete@ jdarman34: We use the Reading Street Series and there are fluency passages that correlate with each story. I use the weekly fluency passage and the Fresh Reads passages. The Fresh Reads are differentiated for all levels of readers.
You are so talented for a first year teacher!! You have a lot to offer and I am soooooo proud of you. Of course, I can say that because I'm your mom.
